Elephants + Giraffes | Aqua + Yellow Baby Shower

A couple of weeks ago, I had my first baby shower to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our little peanut.  My mom + sister hosted the shower, in California at my moms house (where I grew up in).  The lightening isn't the best to begin with at my Mom's house #FirstWorldProblems + with no air conditioning, we had to keep the windows/blinds closed, so the photos are not the greatest (please forgive me)... I guess I've become spoiled with the floor to ceiling windows I'm used to in our apartment in NY.  Nevertheless, I wanted to share with you a few, as I couldn't have been more thankful for all the handwork that my mom + sister put into making my shower so amazing!

All of the decor was + food (minus the macaroni salad) was made by my sister... she even made my favorite funfetti cupcakes.  Yes, I said funfetti! When it comes to cake, I'm pretty particular, I either like a homemade strawberry (made with real strawberry puree) + homemade strawberry cream cheese frosting or funfetti–from the box.  Polar opposites, I know, but I like what I like.

We had about 25 people attend, which was amazing given the short notice.  It was so nice to have friends from many different stages of my life there–best friends from high school, friends from college, friends from my church that I used to attend in San Francisco, family friends + family, + my dear friend from NY (+ former employee) that now lives back in LA (who drove up that morning 7+ hrs to attend). My only regret, is that I didn't get photos with everyone, but thankful I have the memories.
