10 Diverse Children's Books We're Loving

Reading has always being a priority in our house. Both my husband and I love to read and we have passed on that love to our kids as well. We consistently read multiple books a day – always at bedtime and often times during the day too. I’m a huge lover of children’s books in general. One day you will see children’s books written by Fallon Santiago (speaking it into existence), but for now, I collect my favorites – all in the name of research (wink, wink).

Growing up, I only remember reading a handful of books with diverse characters and can’t think of one with a character that looked like me. Thankfully, things have change and the assortment of books with diverse characters is growing by the day. We pulled together 10 of our current favorites, that both the boys and I are loving. Growing our in home library and continuing to focus on filling it with books featuring diverse characters, is very important to me. This list is by no means, the best of the best (although many of them would fall into that category), we are simply sharing our current favorites. If your favorite didn’t make the cut, don’t worry – I’m sure we will have a part 2, 3, 4 etc. featuring more of our favorites soon.
