As always, we are sharing our honest review.

Last weekend, we have the pleasure of joining Sherri Schubert Events and a few other bloggers, for a press trip to Woodloch Resort in the Poconos. Woodloch was voted the #1 family resort in America and I can see why. Upon arriving, “ I’v Had The Time of My Life” immediately started playing in my head and I felt like Baby in Dirty Dancing (insert pinch me moment). I could only imagine what this place is like in the summer!

With that said, Fall at Woodloch is magical. The air was crisp, but the sun was bright, making it extremely pleasant to spend the majority of our time outdoors. We stayed in a gorgeous room overlooking Lake Teedyuskung, with a small little balcony which was perfect for taking it all in, first thing in the morning.

With the pandemic…

Woodloch has put some amazing precautions put in place. Mask are required indoors at all times, unless seated at your dinning table, as well as outside, if you are unable to socially distance. There is no cleaning service in your room, unless requested. Woodloch has a full-time safety department to oversee guest and staff safety, whose primary focus will be infection control and prevention. Fully stocked hand sanitizer at almost every turn and signs to renforce wearing as mask.

Overall, they are only booking at 50% capacity, so social distancing is extremely easy. Especially with how spread out the resort is, most times we were alone and able to enjoy the fresh air sans mask, which was such a nice change from how we spent the first half of the pandemic, in a small city apartment.

As a family that has been extra cautious since March and with this being our first time away from home, we felt very safe at Woodloch Resort and would highly recommend if you get the chance to go.

What we did :

Woodloch has so much to do, you have to pick and choose. We stayed two nights and were able to fit in everything we wanted, with some planning. Prior to arriving at Woodloch, I highly recommend you download their app. Through the app you can see the daily actives and sign up directly there. The app will also come in handy with checking the menu for meals, prior to arriving. TIP: If you see an activity full, call the front desk and 9 times out of 10 they will be able to book directly for you.

I personally, really liked the printed schedules that were giving to you each morning at breakfast. I found the printed version easiest to see what was happening for the day and plan accordingly.

This is what we did each day…

Day 1:

  • Tour of the resort

  • Caught the nightly show, featuring acrobatics

Day 2:

  • Minute to win it, actives for the kids

  • Checked out two playgrounds

  • Mini-golf

  • Go-karts

  • Paddle Boats

  • Pumpkin Patch and decorating

  • Family Bingo Night *$5 per person, for 5 games

Day 3:

  • Family Bowling

  • More playground fun

  • Kids craft room

  • Petting Zoo

Many of these activities require a reservation ahead of time, but all are free, unless noted. We personally only did one activity that had a cost associated, but there are a few others. Check the app or daily printed schedule ahead of time, to be sure.

What they wore:

Fall fashion is always fun! We were lucky enough to have The Children’s Place dress the boys for the weekend. How cute are these looks? I went with XS/S for the boys, in the “big boy” sizes, since they had better styles IMO. We also lucked out and had pretty nice weather during our trip, with the last day being the coldest, so these outfits were perfect. I linked up all the pieces. Everything is under $30, with most items being under $15!

What We Ate:

Dinning Room Meal Plan

Woodloch has a great meal plan, which I highly recommend. With covid, you can also choose to take all of your meals to-go and eat back in your room. We felt safe though and choose to eat in the dinning room for our meals. Each table is spread out, more than 6 ft and you eat at the same table with the same waitstaff, throughout your stay, so exposer is minimal. The food itself on the meal plan, was pretty good. The have plenty of options and even accommodated me being gluten free. It was nice having the meal plan, and not having to thinking about where we were going to eat next.

Grille Room

I did leave the main property and head over to the Grille Room located in the clubhouse area at Woodloch Springs (a short 5 min drive away), for one of the meals, because I wanted to try the Gluten Free Blackberry Flatbread and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Not going to lie, it was also really nice to enjoy a meal alone, overlooking the golf course.

Gigi’s Coffee House

Throughout the weekend, we made many stops at Gigi’s Coffee House. I was a big fan of their oat milk lattes and they even had a bunch of fall flavors that you could add on. I did try the boba on our last day, but I have to say I wasn’t a fan – I think I’ve just got too comfortable with making my own that I judge others a little more harshly. If you’re looking for snacks, premade salads or baked goods, Gigi’s also has that too–they even have some gluten free options.

We had the best time at Woodloch and I can now see why, so many families go there year after year. It’s a special place and an experience we will never forget, especially during these crazy times. Next on our list, is visiting for Christmas and in the Summer… I can imagine each season is unique and equally magical.
