Wardrobe Essentials | Three Pieces Every Pregnant Women Needs
Learning how best to style my bump has been a fun adventure. In the beginning, it was all about hiding the bloat but over time, as the bloat turned into a full-blown baby bump, I became more + more comfortable with showing it off. While I'm still in the phase, where I can hide my bump if I so choose, most days, I actually prefer to wear it front + center.
I have found, that for my body type (5'3, petite + curvy), showing off my bump in form-fitting clothing, is much more flattering than loose flowy tops/dresses. If we're being honest, it's actually kinda nice to be able to wear a tight bodycon dress + not have to worry about sucking in. *wink, wink*
I have found that there are three pieces, that when combined together, make a pretty stylish mommy-to-be look. Especially if you will be spending the majority of your pregnancy in the summer, like myself, you can totally get by with these three pieces alone (in multiple colors, of course) if you wanted to.
Three Pieces Every Pregnant Women Needs: 1. Bodycon T-Shirt Dress 2. Sleeveless Boyfriend Blazer / Long Vest 3. Stacked Heeled SandalsNow, let's break it down...
1. The sleeveless boyfriend blazer / long vest is the perfect layering piece. It still allows you to show off you bump, but covers your booty at the same time too. Add one to your look + you will instantly feel polished + put together. **BONUS** Works well when thrown over a tee + leggings too. #winning
SHOP SLEEVELESS BOYFRIEND BLAZERS / LONG VEST: (non-maternity)2. The next + most important piece is the bodycon t-shirt dress. If you're pregnant, this is a must to add to your wardrobe. I've already bought five or six + don't regret a single one. They're so versatile, super comfortable + can be styled in so many different ways. Not to mention, they will grow with you your entire pregnancy + you'll be able to wear them after the baby arrives too. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the gray one I'm currently wearing is under $15! Seriously, snatch this one up ladies.
SHOP BODYCON T-SHIRT DRESSES: (maternity + non-maternity)3. Last but not least, you need a pair of stacked heeled sandals. I repeat, you need them! Now, being pregnant, obviously you're going to gain weight. Being pregnant in the summer, when it's hot + humid, you're feet might swell too. But please, don't spend all your days in flip-flops. I promise the right chunky heel sandal will be just as comfortable, while also giving you a little added height, helping to balance out the weight gain. Below are a few of my favorites...

Now for a little update on me... If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I hit 26 weeks yesterday (only 14 weeks to go) + had my first real pregnancy scare Monday night. I ended up spending 7hrs in the ER, followed by two doctors appointments this week.
Good news... baby is doing great! Bad news... I'm in a lot of pain. Still not sure exactly what's causing it, but the doctors are thinking gallstones. Should know for sure in the next couple of days. So this week, I've been spending a lot of time resting (which is helping) + binge watching Orange Is The New Black.
As for this weekend, we're hoping to finish up our registry + start painting the nursery. We picked up a few pieces for the nursery + I completed my inspiration board last weekend, so I'm eager to get started. Wish us luck!
Any mommy's reading, please let me know your "must-have" registry items so I can check them out.
Have a great weekend! Until next time, you can find me here... Instagram | Twitter | Facebook//
