The Versatile LBD | American Apparel

One of the most versatile items a woman can have in her closet, is the LBD (Little Black Dress) + when your pregnant, there are no exceptions.  I recommend finding a LBD that will grow with you, throughout your pregnancy.

What I love most about this version from American Apparel, is that for one it's non-maternity, so you can where it before, during + after.  Two, it's super stretching + hugs your curves in all the right places.

Last but not least, it's super comfortable + breathable, perfect for hot, humid summers, but also great to layer in the spring + fall.

Um, can we just pause for a minute + take note of how big my bump is here! I swear this bump has a mind of its own + changes by the day.  Not just getting bigger each day too... Some days it looks smaller, some days you can barely notice + then some days, like in this photo, it's BAM, front+center.  But, you know what.  I love it! Especially this photo.  I love how I look like a boss mommy-to-be, heading into my 3rd trimester.  The most important thing I've learned (still learning) is to own your bump, morning noon + night, knowing that it will change.  Some days, it will look small, so days big, but you are growing a little human after all + that's pretty darn exciting!

With the LBD, I also wanted to show you one of my go-to ways that I like to wear it + that is with a chambray shirt layered over.  I love how the chambray shirt makes this rather sexy dress a lot more casual.

 I'm showing you how you can wear it un-buttoned + over a dress, much like a light coat or cardigan.  However there are so many other possibilities as well (belt it, tie it, wear it over your shoulders or on your hips).
