I can't believe it, but we have been doing virtual school for over a year now, which means more screen time than ever and less socialization. One of the things we have done, since the beginning, is made it a point to get outside at least once everyday - weather permitting of course. Since my youngest is in preschool, all he knows is virtual, which is why it's even more important for us to make sure we have multiple breaks scheduled throughout the day, to get outside and play.

After our morning session, we usually do some one-on-one or independent time outside while my oldest is in his second session. Some of our favorite outdoor activities, which can be done together or independently, are all-things-chalk (specifically hopscotch these days), basketball and outdoor bowling, which my kids play on the deck.

To make outdoor play easy to fit into the little free pockets in our day, I keep all the things we will need next to the door, so they are easy to grab and go. That way, even if we only have 10min, we can quickly get outside and fully enjoy it.

THINGS I KEEP HANDY:

Sunscreen should be worn all year long, but especially as we move into summer when the sun is at its brightest and we're typically spending even more time outdoors. I don't know about you, but continuous spray sunscreen is a must for me. It's the easiest way to apply sunscreen for kids especially, and ensures I can get them fully covered quickly. Babyganics is made with plant based and other carefully chosen ingredients including non-synthetic fragrances. Babyganics is also made without parabens, phthalates or aluminum - with Zinc Oxide being the main ingredient, just the way I like it.
