What to Wear for Halloween if you Don't Want to Dress Up
The older you get, there will be years that you may not want to dress up for Halloween, or maybe you just don't have the time to pull together a look. With Halloween falling on a Friday this year, I will just be traveling back home, after spending the week in Miami for work and while I haven't officially decided, it looks like dressing up this year is not in the cards for me.
However, that doesn't mean I can't get in the spirit! Many people shy away from wearing orange + black together for fear of looking too Halloweenie, but there is a way to wear orange + black together and still look chic.
Here are a few type for recreating this look with pieces already in your wardrobe.
Tips for Wearing Orange + Black:
- Blood Orange (oranges with deep red undertones) pairs best with black
- Stay away from matching, meaning no orange accessories
- Add a deep red lip, which compliments your orange rather than matches it
- Add textures, leather is always a nice addition
- Pop in a complimenting print - I love leopard with orange and black and even better when done in army green
On another note, if you follow along on Instagram, then you saw that I was finally able to attend one of Brooke of Fabulous Doodles live sketching events. Last Friday, Clinique + Vogue hosted an event at the Sephora in Time Square (which I found out about day of) and even though walking through Time Square on a Friday is the last thing I wanted to do, this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Brooke is such a talented artist - we have been online friends for years, and it was so good to finally meet in person.
