Sunday Best | ERIN by Erin Fetherston Cocktail Dress
I had the most wonderful Easter Sunday yesterday, wearing my Sunday best... this fabulous new yellow Erin Fetherston dress I picked up, last week at UAL in New Orleans. When I went into the store to pick up some candy for my love Niece and Nephew's Easter Basket, I was told I looked like a walking Easter Ad... and I took that as a compliment. This outfit was PERFECT for yesterday, never mind the fact that it was freezing, all that mattered was that it felt perfect, for the occasion.
We spent the earlier part of the day, checking at the Cherry Blossoms (not all fully bloomed yet) at Branch Brooke Park, in Newark, NJ... which apparently has the largest assortment in the US, even bigger than DC. Who knew? Ohm the things you learn, when you actually keep the sound on those annoying taxi videos on. After our walk in the park (aka. photo shoot), we headed over to Joe's sisters house, to spend the afternoon with his mom and the kids.
That evening we ventured back into the city, to attend Easter service at Hillsong NYC, only to find out while we waited in line for over an hour to get in, that we are at the "college age service"! Let's just say, I have never felt so old, while waiting in that line, but in the end I'm glad we did. Service was unbelievable. After you get past the first 5 min spent confused, while thoughts of "is this the right place?"and "I thought I was going to church not a concert", run through your head and you're not sure if you supposed to "worship" or scream with your hands in up in the air, both are acceptable by the way... Hillsong is pretty AWESOME! The message was powerful and I felt and if I really reconnected with God, which was my goal.
I was probably way over dressed, but that didn't matter to me one bit. Dressed up in your sunday best or not, God want's you to come as you are and for me, this is what you get. Dressing up for me is not about putting on show, dressing up is what I love, it's a part of me. If your sunday best, included jeans and a sweater, and that's who you are, then that's perfect.
I hope wherever and however you spent your sunday, you made it a good one!
