Street Style + Perrier Street Art
As a creative person who has been working in the fashion industry for 13+ years, I have always loved street style. When it comes to my own street style, so many things inspire me – fashion magazines, street style blogs, travel, and my surroundings. In fact, NYC is a huge source of inspiration for me + today I've partnered with Perrier to show you why.
With my style posts on this blog, while I may not always have the time, I like to think of each look as a story where everything ties together. Usually, I start with the outfit and then try to find the perfect backdrop, which could be a typical New York brownstone lined street, the city skyline or a cool wall, highlighting local street art –but this time was different. For todays style post, I started with a product.
When Perrier approached me and asked that I create my own style post inspired by their limited edition bottles and cans, I was all over it – I mean unique street art is right up my alley. Perrier’s newest limited edition bottles/cans were created by three amazing street artists from around the world – Sasu (Japan), Kobra (Brazil)and JonOne (New York/Paris) – having them each create their own iconic label.
Sasu inspired my style post, as I loved the pop art feel to the label she created and the color combination (pink + blue) was my favorite. When I think of real street style, the two words that come to mind are cool comfort and that is exactly what this look is. It doesn’t get more street than leather leggings, all black with a pop of color, a leather jacket + sneakers. I also wanted to make sure the local street art (Williamsburg, Brooklyn) I featured played a starring role in my shoot.
