Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
While the return of the PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) at Starbucks is always is a happy moment for me, since giving up coffee last year, I have to admit it's not as exciting, until now... Move over Starbucks, there's a new Pumpkin Spice in town! The (PSS) Pumpkin Spice Smoothie is here and she's the healthier, tastier, more filling alternative to her older sister. Lululemon introduced their protein version last week, which promoted me to create my own.
Before I share the details, I must fill you in on a little secret... I am OBSESSED with pumpkin! This will be my 4th year now participating in what I like to call "Twelve Weeks of Pumpkin", starting with the end of labor day, leading up to Thanksgiving! All I ask is that you come prepared to try new things... pumpkin is so amazingly delicious and I am excited to share with you all of the ways you can enjoy it.
So get ready, pumpkin season is here! And to kick it off, were saying... move over PSL, the PSS has arrived!
- 1/2 can pumpkin puree (make sure you don't get the pumpkin pie filling)
- 1 1/2 banana
- 1/2 Almond Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 Tbsp nutmeg
- 1/2 Tbsp ginger
- Combine all in a food processor or blender and blender until liquified. Approx. 3 min.
- Make it sparkle by serving in a mason jar, with a straw of course
- Revel in the fact that you just saved yourself almost over 100 calories and took in a whole lot more nutrients
