Palm Springs is a magically place... one where you can visit and instantly transport yourself to various periods in time, all fashionably filled with actors, actresses, and musicians... think, Bing Crosby, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra (check out my Facebook to see the "Forever Marilyn" Statue). I love everything about Palm Springs! From the daydreams your encouraged to have to the mid-century modern decor, Palm Springs sparkles. To me, this outfit, with a nod towards the 1960's, is so Palm Springs, that I had to give it a whirl. I know the red belt is a bit unexpected but in the end it totally pulled the look together. If every you were afraid to try out bold color, Palm Springs is the place to give it a whirl.
In case you haven't notice by now, i have just as much fun scouting the locations for my outfit post, as I do putting the outfits together, and I knew instantly where I wanted to take the pictures for this outfit post... none other than The Parker Hotel. I have been dying to see this hotel in person, ever since seeing pics of it on pinterest, and I have to saw, it was even better in person than I could have imagined. From the FAB wall, to the orange doors, and the mid-century, boho-glam decor (I can only imagine what each room must look like), the Parker Hotel was the "bees knees"! <-- not typically in my vocabulary but felt appropriate here.
Now I have to say these photos were a blast to shoot, mainly because I was giddy with excitement fueled by the awesome backdrop... however it was 114 degrees outside... Lucky for us the doormen were true gentlemen and brought us bottled water to quench our thirst. One day (soon), my love and I MUST stay here (adding to to my travel list now, hopefully to be crossed off soon). Parker Hotel, if your listening and need a guest to occupy one of your rooms for a weekend, I would be happy to help you out ;) Hope to see you again soon!
Special thanks to my friends husband, Damon, for playing photographer!
