Nursery Wall Book Display
I recently realized that 15 months had passed and I still haven't shared photos of Jayden's nursery, outside of a few snaps on Instagram (#JaydensNursery)... I know–crazy, right?!? Especially, considering the majority of his nursery was completed before he was born! But alas, life/motherhood/becoming a new mom happened and there were of course a few little projects I never finished (book display, hanging curtains, etc.) so I put off photography the room. Now with number two on the way, I'm thinking how ways that we will eventually convert the nursery to accommodate a toddler and an infant. As I began my brainstorm, I thought now is the time to finish those little projects that I had been putting off and finally photograph Jayden's nursery as it is today, as a way to always remember when it was just one. So that's exactly what I have set out to do this month, starting with the wall book display, which Jayden and I both worked together to hang earlier this week.
Reading is one of our favorite activities, sometimes I think I enjoy it more than Jayden (I mean sitting still is hard work), but then there are moments like this morning, when he grabs a book from his shelf, comes over and hands it to me, then snuggles up in my lap, that first, melt my heart and second, show me he loves reading too.
The shelves I got from Ikea, as well as the bookcase. The "star" and "J" marquee are from MICHAEL'S Crafts. In the coming weeks, I will finally share the full nursery and link to everything including our favorite piece of furniture, our gray rocker. Oh and in case you're wondering about the sunburst mirror, this was a DIY project that I share back in 2015. So much more to come...
