Lace Dress, Vintage Blazer + Lace Up Oxfords| Rome, Italy
Remember this lace dress from my birthday photo shoot? I loved it so much, that I HAD to bring it with me to Italy. Luckily the weather was working in my favor + was in the high 60's one day, so I was able to wear this dress with my vintage wool blazer (thanks mom) + without tights.
Can I just say, my nine-day trip in Italy was amazing–even better than expected, if that's possible. I promise to share more details on the trip soon. One thing I can tell you though, which no one warned me of, is that the streets in Rome have the craziest cobble stones I have ever encountered + I was not prepared. I packed one pair of oxfords (with a 2" heel), my brown and black booties (3.5" heel) + my Nike sneakers–all of which are super comfortable, in my normal life, but when you throw in Rome cobble stones, the Nike's were the only ones that would do... and well, they didn't exactly go with all my outfits. What's a girl to do? Shop + shop I did!
I picked up these patent leather oxfords from Clarks, after day two of walking around in my oxfords I brought (which worked well with the cobble stone but not so well with all the walking we were doing) + it turned out to be the best decision ever! I've been obsessed with oxfords for about a year now as the have completely replaced all my ballet flats that I can no longer wear after injuring my foot + these oxblood versions are one of my new favorites. Who would've thought I would be into a comfort shoe brand? I guess that's what happens when you turn 30... Nevertheless, I love them + think they're pretty fashionable... they just happen to be comfortable too–now that's what I call winning!
