I'm Getting Married!

Yesterday, could have been like any other Sunday, but it was far from it.  Yesterday, was magically. Yesterday, was perfect.  Yesterday, was what dreams are made of.  Yesterday, I tried on wedding dresses for the first time and today I will officially say Yes, to the Dress!

My BBF, Yaz and I started the day at Lovely in TriBeCa.  Highly recommended.  I mean, if I could move into this place, I would!

Here is a shoot of my room for the hour! I mean, it's like it was made for me...

I sat in a beautiful pink velvet chair as I told my stylist, Kelli, details of the wedding and watched her try to catch her breath when I told her the wedding was in May, on this year! But Kelli was a true professional and took me straight to the back, where all the dresses where, so we could get started.

I came into the appointment, knowing that I LOVED Hayley Paige designs (seen above), but unfortunately, Lovely couldn't get them for me in the time frame I needed.

So we scoured the racks, only looking at the dresses that would work for me and luckily we found some amazing gems!

Luckily, I had my BFF right by my side for the special occasion.  And I also had my mom and sister on FaceTime too... all the way from California.

Despite all of the beautiful gowns, I didn't find the one at Lovely.  But I came VERY close.  Had Hayley Paige been an option, I know I would have walked out with one ordered that moment.

But alas, we left Lovely, with thoughts on one special dress by Anna Campbell on my mind, but one that would need a lot of work to be perfect.

...and off we went to Long Island to Nordstrom's Bridal Salon for our 2nd appointment. When we got there, I wasn't wowed by any of the dresses.  I was still stuck on the Anna Campbell and was really looking for an AMAZING tulle textured skirt to layer over it.  But there were some amazing skirts on a few of the dresses and Nordstrom, that I had to try.

Our first stylist was less than excited about my tight time frame and pretty much tossed us to the new girl... which I'm so glad she did, because frankly her attitude was killing my vibe.  Our second stylist was sweet and very helpful.  We tried two gowns on and the 2nd one... a HAYLEY PAIGE was it! Yaz, my BFF cried. Mom, still crying from our morning appointment loved it and so did my sister.

I have to admit, I was still a little torn, having already felling in love with the top of the Anna Campbell, but realistically, what was needed to make that dress the one, would have been hard to do given our time frame.  After coming home and looking through the pics, I knew I had found the one.  So today, when my stylist calls, I will be officially saying, "yes, to the dress"!

More details to come as we plan our special day!
