Circus Animals + Hot Air Balloons | Baby Shower
Not everyone is lucky enough to have one amazing baby shower, I fortunately was lucky enough to have too! Last week I shared the details of my California baby shower that my sister + mom hosted for me, now today I'm excited to share my New York baby shower hosted by my best friend + husband.
The theme, which was inspired by my nursery, was circus animals + hot air balloons. We held the shower in the recreational room of our building, which was recently remodeled. How amazing is the "bookshelf wall paper" behind the cake?
Speaking of the cake... it was supposed to be a strawberry naked cake with cream cheese frosting (the one thing I wanted at my wedding, that no one in Puerto Rico was able to produce), but ended up being not so strawberry. Looks like I'm going to have to make one for myself, luckily I have a recipe to follow from when I made the most amazing strawberry cupcakes a couple of years ago.
The flowers were all made by Gotham Florist, who incorporated the theme with hot air balloon inspired baskets.
The cake was made by IM Pastry Studio with customized cake topper by Yaz...
+ no party is complete without a shot or two for Instagram.
One element from the shower decor that is for sure getting added to the nursery is these adorable circus animals, that Yaz customized for the event.
A HUGE thank you to all of my friends for joining us on the beginning of this amazing new adventure. Joe + are were both overwhelmed with the joy that surrounded us that day. Jayden is already so loved by all of his extended family.
Oh + for those of you that are wondering, my dress is from Anthropologie. It's actually more of an a-line dress, with fitted waist, than an empire waist, but I just went up a few sizes and tucked the waist under to make it work with my baby bump.
Below are a few more photos from the event. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get photos with everyone but I'm glad I got the ones I did...
