Caribbean Christmas | Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
This Christmas, I was lucky enough to spend it with my two families on both sides of the country. Starting off in the Caribbean, to visit my loves family in Puerto Rico. We spent four amazing days there, where the temps were in the low 80's and the humidity was low - just the way I like it.
Our trip started off in the mountain, relaxing in a hammock the first day, looking through old family photos + spending time with my loves mom. Then the second day, after spending the day at the beach, we attended an outdoor concert at La Placita, which was like nothing I've ever seen. While I have been to La Placita before, the concert brought insane amounts of people out... at least a couple 1,000. It was shoulder to shoulder, filled with live music, good drinks, + the best salsa dancing I've ever seen! I just wish I would've worn flats... lol.
For the 3rd day, I had another new experience... a Chinchorrero-Parranda! A chinchorrero is like a bar crawl + a parranda is like Christmas Caroling... so basically it was a festive, day-long bar crawl, all along the north part of the island.
Our last day, we spent back at the beach with an afternoon excursion in Old San Juan (one of my favorites parts of Puerto Rico).
Then after all of that we flew back to New York + caught the evening flight to SFO to surprise my family for Christmas - rounding off one amazing week!
This Christmas has really been one for the books. I couldn't ask for a better partner in life or family to spend it with. 2014 has been an amazing year, but some how I feel like 2015 is going to be even better!
I hope you all had a wonderful time with your family + friends as well. I wanted to also thank each of you for following along with Sage + Sparkle this year. You all mean the world to me + I can't thank you enough for joining me on this journey.
