Açai Bowl // Mango & Blueberry


DSC_0298 Açai bowls seems to be everywhere these days!  Up until a few weeks ago, I had never heard of them, then one day our intern,  Lisa brought one into work for breakfast and I was instantly intrigued.  Anything that is colorful, involves fruit, and looks pretty is something I want to try.  The ones Lisa used to bring in were from Juice Generation, but there was no way I would ever have the time to walk 3 blocks and  4 long avenues just to get one and unfortunately they didn't deliver, but that wasn't stopping me.  I decided it can't be that hard... I'm going to make one myself.  And make one myself I did. End result - A-MAZING!!! Açai bowls are the perfect combination of pretty and delicious, plus they are super healthy and included no added sugar.



  • 1 packet frozen açai (you can get in the freezer section of Whole Foods or any similar Food Market)
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 frozen mango
  • 1/4 fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 granola
  • 1/2 Tbsp chia seeds


Break açai into smaller pieces, so its easier to blend.  Add açai, banana, and mango to a blender (I used my Ninja) and blend till smooth.

Pour into bowl and top with granola, blueberries, and chia seeds.

...and that's it.  Your done!  So simple right? and trust me when I say, sooo yummy!




These bowls are so delicious, they have kicked my green juice breakfast habit to the curb and I have been making this literally everyday this week and bring to work in a mason jar.  If you plan to follow suit, I recommend making it about 20 min. before you plan to leave, then placing it in the freezer until you head to work, so it keeps the icy texture.  I only have a 15min commute so mine is fine in my handbag, but if your commute is longer, I recommend carrying in an insulated bag in order to keep the texture of the açai.
