DIY Slime - a Fun STEM Activity for Kids
Jude officially thinks I’m the best mom ever, because we finally made SLIME! We love science-based activities in our home, so it was no surprise that this activity was such a hit - I mean check out Jude’s smile! Slime is actually very easy to make and while it can g4et messy when unattended, I found it wasn’t bad at all, when made in the kitchen, played with in the kitchen and then discarded after. As long as you don’t let kids play with slime unattended, there’s nothing to be worry about.
What you need:
Baking soda
glue,
contact eyedrop solution
measure cups
a bowl
In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup water + 1/2. Elmers glue + a few drops of food coloring (optional) and mix, mix, mix. Then add 1/2 tsp baking soda and mix again.
Final step… add 2 tbsp contact solution and mix until it starts to pull away from the bowl, then kneed with you hands for about 5-10min and voila… you have SLIM!
