4th of July Breakfast, American Flag Pancakes

The 4th of July just got a MAJOR upgrade! With this being Jayden's first official summer since starting school, I am determined to make the simple moments like breakfast, extra special for my boys... insert American Flag waffles! My boys are huge fans of waffles so it was fun to get them involved in making this delicious and Pinterest worthy breakfast.
As a mom with two toddlers, running around from store to store isn't always an option, which is why we love Stop & Shop. When we decided last minute that flag waffles would be fun, we were able to hop in the car and run to Stop & Shop, pick up everything we needed (I'm, talking everything from festive plates and cups to dairy free whip cream) and get back home quickly.
We choose waffles for our festive breakfast because they're easy enough to make, the boys can get involved throughout the process and they are sure to be devoured–every.single.time!
I know these waffles look fancy, but I promise you there isn't much to them.
What You'll Need:
Waffle Mix (or you can make your own, but like said... I was going or simple)
Blueberries for stars
Strawberries for stripes
Whip cream (we used a dairy free coconut whip cream that is amazing)
Plates and/or decor
Red Juice, for fun (we went with store bought i.e. easy)
TIP: When cooking with toddlers, I always measure all ingredients out ahead of time and put them into easy to pour containers so that if they grab something and dump, your recipe won't be ruined. Doing this allows toddlers to be more involved but also keeps mama sane too.
