1st Birthday Party | Jayden's Wild Rumpus (Part II)
Once the scene was set, we were ready to party! ...but first, I had to rush home get myself and my baby ready and then rush back, resulting in Jayden and I arriving 20 min late. At least "fashionable late" is totally a thing, which I think we nailed.
From the moment we stepped in, you could feel the love, which is exactly what I was hoping for, when putting together Jayden's first birthday party. We had around 45+ adults and 22 kids attend the party, all of who've played a role in Jayden's first year of life. My mother and sister came all the way from California for the party and Joe's Mom came up from Puerto Rico. Jayden's crew rolls deep and it was so nice to have some many members of his crew together in one room. It was a packed house, but luckily, I was able to work with the venue, Bierocracy to move a few tables out prior, to make for more space... and by I, what I really mean, is that my husband made it happen. Thank God, he's the calm rational one in the our relationship, I on the other hand panicked the week prior.
We pre-ordered platers of fresh-baked german pretzels, asparagus, burgers (cut in half), crispy shoe string fries and wings. The cake was made by I.M. Pastry in Brooklyn and was our family favorite, strawberry. I opted not to do a smash cake, since we already did a cake smash session earlier in the month and instead went with mini strawberry cupcakes toped with gold crowns for the kids (Jayden ate two). The food and service was excellent, as it always is at Bierocracy, but even more so for such a large crowd.
I couldn't have asked for a better first birthday for our son. He had a blast! Walking around and greeting everyone, playing with all his friends, and crowing down on food. I barely saw him the whole party, HA!
