1st Birthday Party | Jayden's Wild Rumpus (Part I)
I decided on the theme for Jayden's first birthday, back in May. It's nowhere near original... I'd be the first to admit, a "Wild One" b-day party is pretty basic. But I really didn't care, I knew I would be able to execute it in a unique way. I always loved the book "Where the Wild Things Are" growing up #madeinthe80s and since Jayden is a little wild one, it was a perfect fit. We did a cake smash photo shoot, prior to the party, so that we could use the photos to make a book, with Artifact Uprising, for our guest to sign and also print a few in poster size, as decorations.
Most of the decorations, I DIY'd myself, included the "Wild Thing Bean Bag Toss" which my husband helped with, by carving the wood for me. I got the felt fire pit, ONE banner, custom napkins and print outs on Etsy. I purchased the white tee pee from Amazon, the faux fur rug at Costco and found the faux fur stool at Hobby Lobby.
We held the party at a local "german style" beer hall in LIC, Bierocracy, which fit the theme perfectly. I have so many amazing photos from the party, that I had to split them into multiple blog post, so for Part I, I'm sharing the set up /details.

Planning this party was so much fun, until the end... I am NOT a party planner, so there were so many little things, that I did not think of in advance that piled up the last week. Multiple things went wrong, but in the end, no one knows what those "things" are but me. I received so many compliments on the party and I couldn't be happier with the end result. While I know Jayden won't remember his first birthday party, I know he will enjoy looking back on the memories and hearing all the stories. More details on the actually event in Part II...
